Volant Autonomy
Volant is a start-up developing autonomous flight technology. As part of the design team, I focused on animating brand elements, bringing to life elements of the identity and helping communicate the company’s complex aerospace technology to investors and stakeholders.
Naming
These early animations were used to give the client an idea of how each name would look in the context of a brand.
Development
Once the name was finalised, I collaborated with other designers to add motion to our concepts and bring the different creative routes to life for our client.
Final Outcome
The final identity drew inspiration from the swarms of birds and the murmurations they create. The motion of these murmurations needed to feel organic, smooth & controlled, representing how Volant's technology is safe and reliable.
Investor Video
The Volant team needed a way to communicate to potential investors who they were, and how each of their products was working to create the future of flight. The Volant brand murmurs evolved to create clear and concise animated diagrams of each product.
The video was used to win over investors, and Volant was awarded £3.7 Million by the UK Government to begin tests of their technology over and around the island of Jersey in 2024.
